Abstract

Synthesis and Characterization of Superalloy Materials Nickel Based as Making Materials Turbine Blades Aircraft

Rezza Ruzuqi

As the industry advances, companies that have contributed greatly to the industry have created a variety of aircraft components that have superior physical, mechanical and chemical properties to meet market demands. Turbine blades based on nickel-based Superalloy materials. The superiority of mining results in Indonesia is expected to be able to produce its own turbine blades with production costs that will certainly be more economical. Therefore, the manufacture of turbine blades from nickel-based Superalloy material which has superior physical, mechanical and chemical properties needs to be prepared in Indonesia. The research has been conducted to manufacture the nickel based Superalloy materials. The purpose of this research was to find out the effects of variation of nickel composition to physical and mechanical properties of the Superalloy materials, also to find out the appropriate composition of Superalloy materials as materials for turbine blades. This research used nickel, cobalt, chromium, molybdenum, aluminium, and titanium commercial. The results showed that more additing of nickel composition, the density and hardness values increased. Based on the results of tests that have been carried out, the best value is obtained at 59 wt% nickel content, where the highest density value is 4,826 g / cm3 and the highest hardness value is 728.0 VHN. This result is also supported by the results of the microstructure test, in which the morphological structure of the sample is finer and denser there are also fewer pores. Based on the XRD test results also showed that the Superalloy phase was formed.
