Invited Opinion Article - (2021)Volume 8, Issue 2
COVID-19 is a novel coronavirus disease, to date, spreading all over the world. To date of this brief welcome, 3.017.806 people were infected with COVID-19, and 209.661 deaths were found in 185 countries (John Hopkins Coronavirus Resource Center, date 27th April 2020).
This overwhelming death rate makes intensive research activities necessary all over the world. Children seem to have a lower fatality rate but act as a transmitter of the disease.
As the Editor-in Chief of “Advances in Pediatric Research Journal" I like to introduce a special issue titled “Challenges, Risk and Approaches of SARS-CoV-2 and COVID-19 in Children". I hope to establish new manuscripts containing new important aspects in research of COVID-19 in children.
Advances in Pediatric Research publish original research articles with a potential impact on the fields of neonatology, pediatrics, and adolescent medicine. The editors seek forward-looking, cutting-edge original research, case studies, and systematic reviews. We will also publish invited editorials, expert viewpoints and counterpoints. Advances in Pediatric Research are primarily a clinical research journal; yet translational, genetic and compelling basic science research articles are welcome.
The journal’s content is of primary interest to perinatologists, neonatologists, general and specialist pediatricians, pediatric surgeons, and specialists in adolescent medicine. Advances in Pediatric Research may also be of interest to family medicine physicians, nurse practitioners, medical geneticists, and genetic counselors.
