Dental Implantation Leading to Periophthalmic Bones Puncture: Clinical Image

Description

After an encounter with maxillary sinusitis, orbital contamination could cause eye globe rupture. This issue usually occurs due to the unusual orbital contamination spreading from the sinusitis.

In this study we reported a case of 40 years patient who has a past history of hypertension and was under treatment and medication. The patient was admitted in hospital with pain and irritating sensation along with facial swelling in the area periophthalamic area (around the eye) as was undergone dental implant surgery in the upper jaw right and left canines which are in the maxillary alveolar bone and also in the mandibular left and right molars 4 days before the admission (Figure 1). By the laboratory investigations facial enhanced tomography and facial x-ray of the patient have confirmed that due to implants the frontal sinus bones has been punctured which lead to infection in the area (Figure 2). Further medicated and treated [1,2].
