Background: Methylergometrine is an ergot alkaloid of ergonovine used to treat post-partum hemorrhage secondary to uterine atony. Mistaking methylergometrine for vitamin K with accidental administration to the neonate is a rare iatrogenic illness occurring almost exclusively in the delivery room setting.
