Ana Maria Blanco Martinez, MD from the Federal University of Bahia (1978), held a residency in Pathological Anatomy at the Professor Edgar Santos University Hospital (UFBa) in 1979 and completed a Ph.D. in Neuroscience at the University of London in 1984. She is currently a Full Professor in the Department of Pathology, Faculty of Medicine, Federal University of Rio de Janeiro.
