Lead author in scores of publications that appear in prestigious peer reviewed medical journals, including collaboration with leaders in the field in writing chapters for ophthalmology textbooks.
In addition to investigation into retinal toxicity, active involvement in exploring the subject of age related macular degeneration, including early detection and novel treatment modalities.
Membership in national and international ophthalmological societies includes the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Macula Society, the American Society of Retina Specialists, and the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology. Participation in numerous national and international meetings, with multiple invited speaker appointments.
Service as a member of the editorial board in the Graefes Archives of Clinical and Experimental Ophthalmology and Investigative Ophthalmology of Visual Science and in the journal The Retina Physician. Serves as a reviewer for the journals Ophthalmology, The American Journal of Ophthalmology, Graefes Archives of Clinical and Experimental Ophthalmology and Investigative Ophthalmology of Visual Science, Investigative Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences, and others. In Israel, a member of several committees within the Faculty of Medicine of Tel Aviv University, member of the ethical committee of the Ministry of health and various ad hoc committees. Previous service as chairman of the Israeli Board of Ophthalmology for 4 years.
Awardee of a number of prestigious research grants and awards, including several from the Israeli Ministry of Health, the Rosenthal award from the Macula Society and the Achievement Award from the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
