Anthony M. DiGioia III, MD, is a practicing orthopaedic surgeon at Renaissance Orthopaedics, PC, located at Magee-Womens Hospital of the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC), and an engineer by training. He developed the Patient- and Family-Centered Care (PFCC) Methodology and Practice which combines the art and science of performance for health care and is an innovation in the process of care delivery that dramatically improves patient outcomes, quality, safety, and efficiencies and reduces costs while delivering exceptional care experiences.
Dr. DiGioia is founder and medical director of The Orthopaedic Program and the Innovation Center at Magee-Womens Hospital of UPMC and collaborates with care givers and health care leaders to export the PFCC Methodologies and Practice for any care experience, anywhere. He is board-certified in orthopaedic surgery and a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American College of Surgeons. He has received numerous professional awards, including the Pittsburgh History Makers Award in the area of medicine and health.
