Biography
Dr. Caryl James is a Clinical Psychologist employed to the University of the West Indies, Mona Western Jamaica Campus as a full-time Lecturer. Her areas of speciality are eating disorders and trauma. Her areas of research interest include: eating disorders, lived experiences of psychiatric patients, traditional medicine, sexuality and trauma. She has a passion for eating disorders as evidenced by her choice of Pre-Doctoral internship at the Renfrew Center for Eating Disorders, Florida. She is an advocate for raising eating disorder awareness in the Caribbean and works diligently with eating disorder sufferers and family members.
