Dr Carine Platat has been working in the Nutrition and Health Department since August 2008. After having been graduated from the prestigious National Institute of Agronomy in Paris, France, she became specialized in human nutrition and physiology. She completed her PhD in 2005, in the human clinical field, investigating the metabolic syndrome and its relationship with diet, physical activity and inflammation. She conducted several research projects on physical activity, lipid metabolism and nutrition 0related diseases, especially diabetes ad obesity. She is now also focusing oxidative stress and investigating potential functional ingredients. Dr Carine Platat is teaching a variety of courses in the Nutrition and Health department including Nutrition I, Medical Nutrition Therapy and Sports Nutrition.
