Dr. Muchmore has been active in delineating the effective components of resident supervision in the academic environment; she also maintains a small laboratory investigating the regulation of expression of selected cell surface sialic acid modifications. In her role as a clinician educator and administrator at the VA, she has worked with a small team to develop an electronic chart-based tool to measure the time spent performing direct and indirect supervision of resident trainees.
