Biography
Over of his career he has worked interdisciplinarily to develop methods for measuring the stress response and the process of allostasis. He has been interested in the causes and effects of endocrine and physiologic changes that dynamically occur as humans adapt to their everyday environments. As a researcher, he began his career at Cornell Medical College where he contributed to the development of several ambulatory blood pressure monitoring devices and also to the use of the technology in medical diagnosis.
