Biography

Dr.Goedele Louwagie is senior lecturer in public health and epidemiology at the School of Health Systems and Public of the University of Pretoria. She obtained her medical degree (cum laude) in Leuven, Belgium, followed by a diploma in Tropical Medicine. After some initial years work in her home country, she gained extensive clinical and managerial experience in the South African public sector health services and completed a diploma in Health care management. She then moved into academia an obtained her MMED degree in Public Health Medicine (cum laude) and in addition passed the College of Public Health Medicine Exams.
