An Essay on A New Theory of Democracy in the non-Western Countries

Democratization in non-Western societies (NWS) has historically resulted in the introduction or imitation of the modern West European democracy model (supply factor). Success of democratization in NWS largely depends on the level of concerted determination on the part of the government and their people, as well as the societies’ traditional values and people’s tolerance level for the new system (demand factors).
