Krista Casazza obtained her PhD from Florida International University in 2006, where her research focused on dietary and physical activity education interventions in adolescents. She received a postdoctoral fellowship on a T32 training grant at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) later that year under the mentorship of Drs. Jose Fernandez and Barbara Gower. Working with the pediatric population, Dr. Casazza’s research interest have evolved into understanding the resource partitioning during critical periods of growth and development with primary focus on the bone fat interface.
