Biography
Dr. Kunihiro Matsushita is an associate professor of medicine at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. His research focuses on cardiovascular epidemiology. He is an associate professor of epidemiology at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Through his clinical experience as an interventional cardiologist, Dr. Matsushita was first interested in diabetes as a key risk factor for coronary heart disease and its antecedent, obesity. His early research area of interest was the epidemiological relationship among insulin resistance, adipokines, inflammatory markers and cardiovascular risk
