  Dual antiplatelet therapy forms currently the basis in acute coronary syndrome pharmacological treatment. However, there is a wide variability in antiplatelet response to clopidogrel, which may lead to antiplatelet therapy insufficient efficacy and subsequent risk of thrombotic events.
