Masamine Jimba

Biography

Masamine Jimba is a Professor at the Department of International Community Health, Graduate School of Medicine, University of Tokyo. He studied public health, in particular environmental health and international health, at the National Institute of Public Health in Japan and at Harvard School of Public Health. In terms of his practical experiences, He started to conduct health promotion activities in developing countries when he worked as a WHO Health Coordinator for the Gaza Strip and the West Bank from 1994 to 1996. From 1996 to 2001, he implemented health promotion programs in rural Nepal, using a community development approach.
