    Chronic heart failure is the leading cause of hospital admissions among the elderly population. In spite of the optimal treatment, the risk of morbidity and mortality remains high in these patients. Cardiac resynchronization in the past few decades has revolutionized the management of heart failure and has shown to reduce the symptoms in a subgroup of patients with severe systolic dysfunction associated with ventricular dyssynchrony.
