Satiander Rana

Biography

Dr. Satiander Rana is currently working as a post-doc fellow in the Centre for Bio-renewable Chemicals (CBiRC) at Iowa State University, Ames, Iowa. The main aim of my research is focused to engineer yeast in conjunction with classical genetics and cutting-edge biotechnological interventions for the overproduction of fatty acid as an alternative for industrial chemicals. As a contributor to the Silk Surface Lipid team, he is currently conducting functional characterization of enzymes that we hypothesize are part of the metabolic network of surface lipid biosynthesis in maize.
