Introduction: Perinatally HIV-infected adolescents have the right to healthy sexual and reproductive lives like their HIV uninfected counterparts. The study assessed the quality of care of sexual and reproductive health (SRH) services in antiretroviral therapy (ART) clinics attended by perinatally-infected HIV adolescents.
Methods: The study was guided by Judith Bruce and Anrudh Jain framework for conceptualizing quality as “client-oriented” care. Qualitative and quantitative methods were used to assess quality of care. We conducted facility assessment, evaluation of providers' perspectives regarding the quality of SRH care, and evaluation of experiences of perinatally-infected HIV adolescents about the quality of SRH care provided in the ART clinics.
