The Institut Universitaire du Cancer de Toulouse (IUCT) Oncopole is a leading cancer care, research, and training center in Toulouse, France. It brings together the expertise of the Claudius Regaud Institute and several oncology departments of the Toulouse University Hospital, forming a comprehensive cancer center recognized by the Organisation of European Cancer Institutes. The IUCT Oncopole is dedicated to providing state-of-the-art treatment, conducting innovative research, and offering comprehensive training in oncology. The Surgery Department at IUCT Oncopole includes an operating theater, two conventional hospital units, and an outpatient surgery unit. The department is structured to optimize patient care and develop innovative surgical techniques. It comprises seven operating theaters and multiple hospital units specializing in various types of cancer surgeries, including gynecology, senology, ENT, urology, sarcomas, and skin procedures. The department emphasizes the development of outpatient surgery and the improvement of surgical techniques and equipment, such as intraoperative radiotherapy for breast cancer and focal cryotherapy for prostate cancer.

Background: The Robotic Thyroidectomy (RT) is a minimally invasive surgical technique initially developed in Asia, for cultural reasons. The principles of its use are still undergoing development. Showing to all appearances satisfying outcomes, the long-time safety and medico-economic benefit of the procedure have not been established yet. The use of this technique in thyroid carcinology remains rare, and provides specific risks, not encountered with the Open Thyroidectomy (OT).
Patient Findings: We report the case of a patient who underwent a two-stages RT for a pT3 follicular carcinoma causing dissemination along the surgical track, in spite of the radioactive iodine treatment.
