Dr. Md. Shafiquzzaman Siddiquee is a senior Lecturer of Biosensor and Bioelectronics at the Biotechnology Research Institute, University Malaysia Sabah, Malaysia. Dr. Siddiquee is a Bangladeshi citizen with permanent residence status in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia. After completing his Bachelor of Sciences degree in Agriculture at the Bangladesh Krishi Institute (currently, Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University) under Bangladesh Agricultural University, Mymensingh, Bangladesh in 1998. In 2004, he was awarded a Universiti Scholarship in UPM to pursue his Master of Science in Molecular Microbiology; enrolled thesis on the genetic relationship between three Trichoderma species and inhibitory effects of T. harzianum (Rifai) on Ganoderma boninense. In 2011, he joined the Biotechnology Research Institute at University Malaysia Sabah (UMS) as a senior Lecturer.
Dr. Siddiquee current research focus on chemical, optical and biosensor based research, and also involving production of biofertilizer from oil palm fibres & rice straw, and removal of heavy metals from sediments and wastewater. Currently, he has published 16 papers high impact ranking journals, 1 book, 1 patent, 6 research awards, 9 proceedings papers and over 14 gene sequences in the GenBank database.
