Dr. Vesna RakiÄ is a distinguished specialist in plastic, reconstructive, and aesthetic surgery based in Belgrade, Serbia. She completed her medical education and specialization in plastic and reconstructive surgery at the University of Belgrade's Faculty of Medicine. In 2010, she earned a Master's degree in neurosurgery, focusing her thesis on "Basal Cell Carcinoma of the Scalp, Stage Pt4." Since 2013, Dr. RakiÄ has pursued doctoral studies in forensic medicine at the same institution, working on a Ph.D. thesis titled "Model of Forensic Classification of Disfigurements Occurring as a Result of Surgery, Injury, Illness, and Treatment." Professionally, Dr. RakiÄ served at the Institute for Gynecology and Obstetrics within the Clinical Center of Serbia from 1991 to 2003. She then joined the Clinic for Burns, Plastic, and Reconstructive Surgery, where she worked until 2009. In 2009, she established her private practice, RakiÄ Estetic, in Belgrade, offering a comprehensive range of services in aesthetic and reconstructive surgery. Dr. RakiÄ is an active member of the Serbian Association of Plastic Surgery and other professional organizations. Her commitment to advancing the field is evident through her participation in numerous congresses and her contributions to medical literature. Her extensive experience and dedication have earned her recognition as a leading expert in plastic and reconstructive surgery in Serbia.

Surgical Treatment of Large Neglected Tall-Cell Thyroid Papillary Cancer with Neck Skin Infiltration and Exulceration: A Case Report and Literature

Background: To present for the first time a clinical case of a patient with giant neglected and exulcerated tall-cell papillary thyroid cancer, who was surgically treated.
Methods: We report a case of a 73-year-old woman with large firm infiltrated and exulcerated anterior neck tumefaction (12 cm in diameter) clinically suspected as anaplastic thyroid cancer. Patient had a goiter for more than 20 years with rapid growth in last months, after that presented with infiltration and exulceration of the skin.
Results: Fine needle aspiration biopsy (FNAB) revealed papillary thyroid cancer (PTC). Total thyroidectomy with en-block dissection of the infrahyoid muscles and skin was performed.
