    Micro endoscopic discectomy is a minimally invasive procedure. It has the advantages of minimal muscle splitting technique. However, it requires the patient to be in the prone position. Among the concerns in prone position are optimal support of the shoulders and pelvis. This avoids compression of the abdomen and hence prevents elevation of the intrathoracic pressure.
