Purpose: This meta-analysis aims to investigate the association between the C1772T genetic polymorphism in human HIF-1α gene and breast cancer risk.
Methods: PubMed and Embase databases were searched till October 2013 to identify eligible studies. A total of 2143 cases and 2046 controls from 6 studies were included in this paper. Allelic and genotypic comparisons between cases and controls were evaluated. Subgroup analyses by ethnicity were also performed.
Results: The recessive model, dominant model, comparison suggested that the genotype C1772T polymorphism was not significant without the increased breast risk: OR=1.38 [95% CI (0.35, 5.46)], P=0.65 and OR=1.14 [95% CI (0.83, 1.55)], P=0.43, respectively. The results for the co-dominant model comparison were not different with the results as follows: OR=1.. View More»
