  Purification of Avian IgY with Trichloroacetic Acid (TCA)

  By using trichloroacetic acid (TCA) precipitation to separate egg yolk proteins, mainly IgY was demonstrated that this procedure yield twice more IgY that its counterpart polyethylene glycol (PEG). An ELISA demonstrated that it does not affect the functionality of the IgY molecule. The TCA precipitation procedure provides an efficient and rapid way to purify IgY antibody.
