Biography
The main interest of my research is the molecular and cellular biology of osteoclasts, the only known cell type capable for bone degradation and the key mediators of skeletal diseases including osteoporosis and arthritis. Our research team investigates how Dendritic Cell-Specific Transmembrane Protein (DC-STAMP), an essential protein for osteoclast development, regulates osteoclast differentiation. Briefly, we have (1) developed a DC-STAMP-specific monoclonal antibody that fully blocks osteoclast differentiation and is patented; (2) identified an important motif ITIM on the cytoplasmic tail of DC-STAMP.
