Vitamin D deficiency is widespread: 50 to 80% of the world population. In reproduction medicine, the literature remains discordant about the influence of vitamin D on intracytoplasmic sperm injection outcomes. In this context, a study was conducted whose, its main objective was to evaluate the association between the vitamin D levels and pregnancy rates in a large population of patients followed for in vitro fertilization. Our findings suggest that women with sufficient levels of vitamin D are significantly more likely than those with insufficient levels to achieve a pregnancy following intracytoplasmic sperm injection. We suggest making determining vitamin D status as part of a routine infertility assessment and before assisted reproductive treatment, especially in women with high body mass index. .. View More»
