Research Interest

Zhiwei wang research goal is to understand the molecular mechanisms of development and progression as well as drug resistance in pancreatic cancer. My research focuses on several cell signaling pathways including Notch, FoxM1, and PDGF. Recently, they were also interested in microRNAs, EMT and stem cells, which have shown to play a critical role in pancreatic cancer. Moreover, they investigate whether regulation of cell signaling pathways and miRNAs by natural compounds could kill cancer stem cells, leading to better treatment outcome for pancreatic cancer patients.
