Bullous pemphigoid in a psoriatic patient after adalimumab therapy: Remission with ustekinumab

Bullous pemphigoid (BP) is an acquired autoimmune blistering disease affecting especially the elderly. Among drugs implicated in
BP pathogenesis, anti TNFa agents have been reported as inducing agents. Ustekinumab is a monoclonal antibody that targets the
IL-12/23 receptor and is approved for treating moderate to severe psoriasis. Coexistence of BP and psoriasis represents a therapeutic
challenge. We report a 52 year old male patient with psoriasis who developed BP after treated with adalimumab. Long term remission
of both cutaneous diseases was achieved after administration of ustekinumab. In our knowledge, this is the second case of completely
