A Prescription Medication Use amongst Men and Women Prior and During Assisted Reproductive Technologies (ART): A Review

Along with the rising incidence of couples and individuals seeking fertility, there is an increase in the prevalence of comorbid medical conditions requiring prescription drug use. There is limited data available on medication use prior to and during Artificial Reproductive Technology (ART) treatment and the impact these drugs may have on reproductive outcomes. This review analysed available literature on prescription medication use amongst men and women during ART, including antidepressants, anti-hyperglycaemic medications, levothyroxine and proton pump inhibitors. Further research is required to determine the prevalence of prescription drugs used during ART and assist development of standardised and informative clinical guidelines.. View More»
