Investigation of Different Fishing Gears and Crafts Operated along the Marine Coast of Kuzhuppilli Village, Ernakulam, Kerala with Special Reference to Munambam Harbour

Kerala is a maritime state located in the western region of peninsular India. The state is blessed with a coastline
of 590 Kilometers, Continental shelf of 40,000 Sq Km, EEZ of about 2.18 Lakh Sq Km, large area of backwaters
and inland water bodies. Kerala has a significant fisheries sector that has long been an importance source of
occupation and livelihood for the coastal population of the state. Kerala contributes about 13% of national marine
fish production. So this area needs good attention for the sustainable exploitation of fishery resources and for
