  Early Screening for Autistic Spectrum Disorder: A Systematic Review

  Introduction: Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is characterized by impairments in social communication and the presence of repetitive and stereotyped behaviors. Data indicate a prevalence of 2.7% in childhood, and early interventions have a significant effect when administered before the age of 4. Objectives: To review the scientific literature on screening scales for ASD developed for children up to 36 months, identify the instruments, compare their accuracies, and organize them according to their screening levels 1 (universal screening) and 2 (diagnostic support).
