Dr. Christi Wolf is a distinguished professor and researcher in the Department of Mass Spectrometry at Freie Universität Berlin. Renowned for her innovative contributions to analytical chemistry, Dr. Wolf’s work focuses on advancing mass spectrometric techniques for applications in life sciences, environmental monitoring, and material science. Dr. Wolf earned her B.Sc. in Chemistry from Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich and completed her Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry at ETH Zurich. Her doctoral research centered on developing high-resolution tandem mass spectrometry (MS/MS) methodologies for proteomics, earning her international recognition for her pioneering work in the field. She further enhanced her expertise during a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of California, Berkeley, where she explored advanced ionization techniques and imaging mass spectrometry. Since joining Freie Universität Berlin in 2012, Dr. Wolf has led transformative research projects that integrate mass spectrometry with emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence and microfluidics. Her work includes advancements in metabolomics, lipidomics, and environmental pollutant analysis, significantly enhancing the precision and applicability of mass spectrometry in multidisciplinary research. Dr. Wolf has published over 130 peer-reviewed articles in prestigious journals, including Analytical Chemistry, Mass Spectrometry Reviews, and Nature Biotechnology. She is also the editor of Mass Spectrometry for Modern Analytical Challenges, a widely referenced book in the field. Her contributions have been recognized with numerous awards, including the German Society for Mass Spectrometry (DGMS) Research Excellence Award and the European Chemistry Society (EuChemS) Fellowship.
