Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is a pandemic first identified in China and rapidly transmitted to other countries all over the world. The lack of effective vaccines and treatments against COVID-19 causes its devastating aftermath. Therefore, it is urgently required to identify effective and safe treatments for COVID-19 and a variety of studies have been conducted for elucidating the antiviral effects of natural and plant based agents. As COVID-19 is caused by the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), inhibitors against SARS-CoV-2 are expected to be efficacious for the treatment of COVID-19. In this review, we will introduce the molecular simulation studies for exploring novel plant based agents as potent inhibitors against the main protease of SARS-CoV-2. These agents are expected to be utilized safely for the COVID-19 treatment... View More»
