Biography

Dr. Irfan Mohamad is a distinguished otolaryngologist specializing in head and neck surgery at Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM). He earned his Master of Medicine in Otorhinolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery (ORL-HNS) with a gold medal in 2008. . Currently, he serves as the Deputy Dean of Postgraduate Studies and Professional Training at USM's School of Medical Sciences. His research interests include advanced diagnostic and therapeutic techniques in otorhinolaryngology, with a focus on head and neck oncology. Throughout his career, Professor Dr. Mohamad has contributed extensively to academic literature, authoring over 540 academic publications and delivering more than 170 oral presentations. His dedication to medical education and research has earned him numerous accolades, including the Anugerah Ibnu Sina PAPISMA Malaysia in 2023 and multiple Anugerah Perkhidmatan Cemerlang awards from USM.
