High Molecular Mass Polysaccharide Effect on Soft Connective Tissues
Author(s): Joanne Stiewe*
Hyaluronan may be a high molecular mass polysaccharide present within the extracellular matrix of soft connective tissues. It is synthesized within the plasma layer of fibroblasts and other cells by expansion of sugars to the decreasing conclusion of the polymer, though the nonreducing conclusion juts into the pericellular space. The polysaccharide is catabolized locally or carried by lymph to lymph hubs or the common circulation, from where it is cleared by the endothelial cells of the liver sinusoids... View More»
