    Assessment of Youth?s Involvement in Plantain Value Chain Activities in Ondo State, Nigeria

    The research assessed youth involvement in plantain value chain in Ondo State, Nigeria. It examined the characteristics of the respondents, determined their level of involvement and constraints to their involvement. A multi stage sampling procedure was used to select 120 respondents for the study. Descriptive and inferential statistics were used to analyze the data collected. Detailed results show that higher percentage (59.2%) of female were involved in the plantain value chain with average annual income of 98666.67 ± 18422.37 and all (100%) the respondents had formal education. Their mean age was 33 ± 4 years. There was a significant relationship between their annual income (r=0.211, p ≤ 0.05), years of experience (r=0.245, p ≤ 0.01) and involvement in plantain value chain activities.
