Objectives: Physical activity programs may be useful in the treatment of Juvenile Dermatomyositis (JDM).
Therefore, we aimed to assess the effects of combined physical activity program on aerobic capacity, life quality and
function in children with JDM.
Methods: 27 children with JDM and 15 healthy children as a control group were included. In physical activity
program, all patients performed both aerobic walking exercise (3 days/week/12 weeks) and active range of motion
exercises (4 days/week/12 weeks). All patients completed the childhood health assessment questionnaire (CHAQ).
Range of motions (ROM) measurements of joints were performed by using universal goniometer. Aerobic capacity
was determined by measuring peak oxygen uptake (VO2peak) during a cardiopulmonary exercise testing (CPET).
