Dr. Suh’s research program aims to i) Provide the basic knowledge of the fundamental roles of nutrition in specialized tissues such as the retina and testes function ii) Find mechanisms to explain how essential components of biomembrane work in concert iii) Identify the role of nutrition intervention on pathogenesis of male testicular/sperm/prostate diseases and retinal diseases iv) Translate the basic findings via traditional academic means; v) Provide a basis for the development of nutraceuticals and the testing of commercial products on male reproductive health and eye health.

A Scoping Literature Review of the Nutrition Status Among Canadian First Nations Women During Pregnancy: What Does the Evidence Reveal?

Background: Indigenous women residing in remote communities experience a disproportionately higher prevalence of nutrition-related chronic diseases. The development of evidence-based programs and policies to minimize these health disparities necessitates a comprehensive understanding of Indigenous women’s nutrition status and dietary intake patterns. However, a knowledge gap exists with respect to baseline maternal nutrition status and dietary intake information among First Nations women living on reserves.
