Biography

Dr. Mohammed Mensah is a distinguished researcher in the Department of Biochemistry, Cell, and Molecular Biology at the University of Ghana, Accra. His work focuses on the integration of cell markers in tissue engineering to enhance cell characterization, thereby advancing regenerative medicine and therapeutic interventions. Dr. Mensah examines the pivotal role of cell markers—molecules expressed on the surface or within cells—in identifying and classifying various cell types. He discusses how these markers, including surface proteins like CD34 and intracellular proteins, provide insights into cellular identity, behavior, and functionality. The paper highlights technological advancements such as high-throughput screening, mass cytometry, and advanced imaging techniques that have significantly improved the ability to analyze cell markers, thereby facilitating the development and optimization of tissue engineering strategies.Dr. Mensah's research emphasizes the application of cell markers in regenerative medicine, particularly in tracking stem cell behavior and tissue formation. By utilizing specific markers, his work aims to improve the efficacy of treatments for conditions such as spinal cord injuries, heart diseases, and degenerative disorders.
