Resistance in Prostate Cancer: Mechanisms, Challenges and Therapeutic Innovations

Prostate cancer is the most frequently diagnosed malignancy and the second primary cause of cancer-related mortality among males in the United States and other Western nations. Androgen Deprivation Therapy (ADT) has served as the primary treatment for prostate cancer for several decades; however, the disease ultimately advances after a 2-3 years’ remission, resulting in Castration-Resistant Prostate Cancer (CRPC).
