  Since the development of IVF there have been many innovations which claim to improve success rates. These are known as ‘add ons’. Fertility patients believe that these ‘add ons’ are safe and effective but the scientific evidence is strongly to the contrary or at best vague. Fertility clinics and manufacturers of ‘add ons’ derive considerable financial benefit from ‘add ons’ which only leads to the further proliferation of ‘add ons’.
