Cronobacter and Salmonella have emerged as major pathogens of concern in Powdered Infant Formula (PIF). China’s PIF industry is growing, and consumers are concerned about the potential risk of these pathogens in PIF. The PIF producers need rapid, easy to use and specific detection of Cronobacter and Salmonella for monitoring of raw materials, process environment and finished products for implementing effective control measures to prevent contamination.
