    Laser and Light-Based Devices used for Hair Removal

    Laser treatment is the standard for hair removal. It provides a longer lasting hair-free period than other methods. Long treatment times, from minutes on the face to hours on the back, limited its practicality. Shortly thereafter, the quality switch Neodymium-doped Yttrium Aluminum Garnet (Nd:YAG) laser in combination with a carbon-based topical suspension was approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) as the first laser hair removal treatment.
