    Changes of the Blood Lymphocytes on Severe Trauma Patients in Early Time: A Retrospective Cohort Study

    Many trauma patients die with secondary injury by immune dysregulation where lymphocytes play an important role in immune response. This was a retrospective cohort study of adult severe trauma patients. The patient’s lymphocytes were collected in 0-3(A), 6-12(B), 24-48(C), and 49-72(D) hours after trauma. The degree of secondary injury was determined according to laboratory and clinical records. Lymphocytes play crucial role in immune response, by attacking foreign substances, such as bacteria, viruses, and other pathogens, to help protect the body from infections and diseases. In case of cardiovascular system, lymphocytes can have both beneficial and detrimental effects.
