Biography

Shazimah Abdul Rahman is affiliated to Public Health Medicine Specialist, Miri Divisional Health Office Miri, Sarawak, Ministry of Health Malaysia, Malaysia . He is a recipient of many awards and grants for his valuable contributions and discoveries in major area of subject research. His international experience includes various programs, contributions and participation in different countries for diverse fields of study.  His research interests reflect in his wide range of publications in various national and international journals.

  Background: In Malaysia, the prevalence of current adult alcohol drinker was 8.4%. However, there is no known published data on the prevalence of alcohol consumption and alcohol use disorder among adult outpatient attendees in primary care clinic in Miri Sarawak, East Malaysia. The aim of this study was to determine the prevalence of alcohol consumption and alcohol use disorder and its associated factors among adult outpatient attendees in urban primary care clinics in Miri Sarawak, Malaysia.
