Inequalities Galore: A Girl with T1DM and Repeated Diabetic Ketoacidosis

Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus (T1DM) is one of the most widespread chronic disease affecting children, and young adults
International Diabetes Federation, (IDF). It is a heterogeneous disorder characterized by damage of pancreatic beta
cells, terminating in absolute insulin deficiency. T1DM is a challenging illness and requires lifelong diabetes self-care
which includes self-monitoring of blood glucose, daily multiple insulin injections, close monitoring of food intake,
regular exercise, investigations, and visits to Health Care Professionals (HCPs). In addition, there are impending risks
of hypoglycemia, weight gain, and complications. Genetic, metabolic, and environmental factors act together to
