Using Heterologous Virus-Induced Gene Silencing in Ipomoea purpurea as a Sister Family of Solanceae

This study was conducted to investigate the possibility of using existing vectors as an heterologous system to silence genes in other plant species. In this study I measured the effectiveness of pre-existing Virus Induced Gene Silencing (VIGS) vector as a tool for gene silencing in Ipomoea purpurea, Ocimum basilicum and Anethum graveolens.
