  Ruptured Sinus of Valsalva Aneurysm with Severe Aortic Regurgitation: Can a Device Modify the Puzzle?

  Sinus of Valsalva Aneurysms (SOVA) are classified as congenital or acquired. Congenital SOVAs are caused by the separation or failed fusion of the aortic media with the fibrous annulus of the aortic valve. A ruptured aneurysm in this location has historically been repaired surgically. However, since Cullen described the first percutaneous closure in 1994, this less invasive approach has been increasingly used and can be a viable alternative to closure in select cases.
